The week of September 21st through September 25 has been denoted as Clemson University’s hazing prevention week, planned by students for students. The week aims to open discussion on the practices and consequences of hazing, and to explore its damaging effects among student organizations such as fraternities, ROTC, and the band. Kappa Alpha Order supports this Clemson initiative and encourages members to participate in the week’s events. For more information on Hazing Prevention Week at Clemson University, see this article on the topic, or check out the week’s official website!

Thank you for your outstanding support of the “Bondo Invitational” golf outing held at Boscobel Golf Course on March 5, 2016. We celebrated with a terrific turnout of over 60 golfers on what turned out to be a beautiful afternoon. Thank all of you who supported and / or participated in the event. We hope to continue growing the attendance and have set the date for next year’s event for Saturday, March 4, 2017. We look forward to an even bigger tournament next spring, so mark your calendars and talk it up among your KA brothers and friends.
This year’s tournament raised $13,411 increasing by over $2000 from 2015. The proceeds will be used to pay down the debt on the Lodge and the KA Chapter will make a donation to Clemson’s Golf Paws, a program very dear to Steve and Margaret Bond. We truly thank you for your support!

If you or another alumni you know is not on the Alumni Newsletter mailing list, let us know by contacting Collins Walker at dcwalke@g.clemson.edu so we can reach out to you! We send out newsletters every few weeks to inform alumni of all that is happening at Delta Omicron and at Clemson University.
Delta Omicron is proud to announce that our chapter has selected alumnus, John Nichols (Nicky) McCarter Jr. as our 2015 nominee for induction into the John Temple Graves Province Court of Honor. The purpose of the John Temple Graves Province Court of Honor is to recognize and honor alumni for their continuing interest, support, and participation in the Order, its active chapters or its alumni chapters, and to stimulate the growth and strength of the Order, its chapters and members.
Brother McCarter was initiated into KA in 1977 and is President of Defender Industries in Columbia, SC. He is the current Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Clemson University and serves as Chairman of the Student Affairs Committee. He is also on the board of the Indian Water Council of the BSA. We appreciate his continued interest in KA, his strong leadership and involvement with our chapter, and congratulate him on his selection to the Court of Honor.
